It is my wish and hopes that everyone is having or had a great Thanksgiving this weekend! May you all be able to rejoice in the blessings of the past year. May you also be able to spend time with your loved ones.
I would like to wish all my readers a happy Labor Day today. I hope you enjoy this holiday with your family and friends and that it is a safe one for you.
Please take some time today to remember all those who worked hard to earn the rights we all enjoy as workers today. They worked hard for you and me so that we wouldn’t have to put up with abuses at work and that our workplaces would be safer places to work at.
I would like to wish all of our visitors and members from Canada a Happy Canada Day today! I hope you have a safe and fun holiday today! Happy 151st birthday to our great nation, and may the Lord continue to bless it and the citizens of our land.
I’ve switched the antispam plugin here to CleanTalk. Hopefully, this will allow people to register here now who are legitimate and not spambots.
If you were not at this month’s meetup, you need to know that we will not be returning to the public library in September, but will be continuing to meet for the foreseeable future at the classroom in the Joanne and Friends Boutique in Duggan Mall (located on the west side of Camrose behind McDonald’s and the Norsemen Inn). We have WiFi access and a TV with HDMI for presentations.
Please let me know here about topics you’d like to see covered at future meetups. In the forums, also feel free to suggest other things for meetups.
Join us on May 5th at 2 PM in the Bunker Room downstairs at the Camrose Public Library for our last meetup there before summer. Due to the library using the room for their summer programming, we will not be meeting at the library for the meetups of June, July, and August. Instead, we are looking for an alternative location. One of our members may have a location and if so, I’ll be adding the dates of the meetups here and on Meetup.com with the location.
As usual, we’ll be watching a video about WordPress after our greetings and talking about any questions anyone has, but unlike last time, I’ll have downloaded the video we will be watching to avoid lagging. If you have a suggestion for a topic for the video to cover, please let me know via comment or post on the forums here or via message at Meetup.com.
Until I see you at the meetup, take care and God bless.
Hey, fellow WordPress users and those interested in this open-source software!
Tomorrow the Camrose WordPress Meetup group is having our monthly meetup at the Camrose Public Library in the Bunker Room downstairs at two in the afternoon. Everyone is welcome to join us and there is no cost to join us or to become a member of our group (or to join this community on the web here). We will be first having a time of getting to know one another, followed by a general question and answer session, and finished with watching a video on WordPress.TV through the projector and a laptop.
About a question someone asked on our Meetup.com group
Someone asked if I could create a list of the best WordPress plugins and widgets, but due to the fact that it takes more time than what I have to prepare a proper answer, I have decided to delay answering this until the May meetup. If you have a WordPress-related question in the meantime, feel free to post it here in the forums, and someone will try to answer it for you.
I know that the weather outside isn’t the best (and is supposed to be storming tonight and tomorrow), but I hope to see you guys and gals tomorrow at the meetup!
This website is now open and ready for new members to join! If you are interested in and/or use WordPress, and also live in or around Camrose, Alberta, please consider registering today. We have much to offer here, including a calendar to schedule new meetups and forums to discuss various topics. We also have private messaging for members to discuss things in private.
Together all of us can grow in our WordPress knowledge together. If you think of something that can improve this site, please suggest it in The Suggestions Box.
I’m looking forward to meeting each one of you and learning more about WordPress together! 😉
